Full-Time School

The James Still Learning Center also provides a full-time, total curriculum, all day academic program for the remediation of children with dyslexia. The staff uses similar materials and methodologies to those used in after-school and summer programs.

Accommodations such as oral testing and extended time, are given as needed in content areas (science, social studies and language arts). Placement in the program is dependent on a committee decision at the child's home (public) school. The Full-Time School is a commuting program only. This program is provided through a cooperative agreement between the Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative and Hindman Settlement School.

Tuition expenses are approximately $7,200 per student, per year. However, no tuition is charged. The cost of the program is underwritten by donations to Hindman Settlement School and support from the Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative.
